Hoover Middle School has a long tradition of outstanding music programs. Large numbers of students participate in our instrumental and vocal programs.

The sixth-grade band program will be divided into three classes: brass, woodwinds, and percussion.  In seventh and eighth grades, the brass and woodwinds will be combined, and percussion will be separate.

The sixth-grade orchestra meets in two classes:  Upper strings and Lower strings.  The seventh and eighth-grade orchestras meet in either an ensemble or a small group class.  We will perform by grade levels.

Hoover ensembles include grade-level bands, choirs, and orchestras as well as a Jazz Band.  We also offer additional opportunities for interested students to take part in solos and ensemble competitions.

Music meets daily.  Students who are dual enrolled band/orchestra and choir will meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with instruments andon  Tuesday and Thursday in choir.  If a 6th-grade student does not want to be involved in choir or instrumental music they will be enrolled in a general music class.
